Product description

Vitamin C Serum with Ferulic Acid

20% L-Ascorbic Acid + Vitamin E + Ferulic Acid

A high-strength antioxidant serum formulated to visibly brighten skin, improve the appearance of uneven tone, and support collagen production using L-ascorbic acid—the active and most extensively researched form of topical Vitamin C.

What makes this Vitamin C serum different?

Not all forms of Vitamin C are the same.

Many skincare formulas use Vitamin C derivatives because they can offer greater stability and formulation flexibility. Dr. Brenner Vitamin C Serum uses 20% pure L-ascorbic acid, the biologically active and most extensively researched form of topical Vitamin C.

This formula combines:

  • 20% L-Ascorbic Acid — the active, extensively studied form of topical Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E (Tocopherol) — a complementary antioxidant that works alongside Vitamin C
  • Ferulic Acid — an antioxidant used to help stabilize and enhance the antioxidant performance of Vitamins C and E

Research supports combining L-ascorbic acid with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid to enhance antioxidant performance and improve formula stability.

How does this Vitamin C serum work?

L-Ascorbic Acid helps:

  • Neutralize free radicals generated by environmental stressors such as UV exposure and pollution
  • Support natural collagen synthesis
  • Improve the appearance of dark spots and uneven tone
  • Visibly brighten dull skin
  • Improve the appearance of fine lines and photoaging with consistent use

Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid complement L-Ascorbic Acid by helping support the stability and overall antioxidant performance of the formula.

Who should use this serum?

This Vitamin C serum is designed for concerns including:

  • Dull or uneven skin tone
  • Dark spots and visible sun damage
  • Fine lines and signs of photoaging
  • Loss of firmness or radiance

Best suited for normal, combination, and oily skin types.

Because this is a high-strength L-ascorbic acid formula, those with sensitive skin may prefer to introduce it gradually and adjust frequency based on tolerance.

Why freshness matters

L-Ascorbic Acid is inherently vulnerable to oxidation. Exposure to factors such as air, light, and heat can gradually degrade Vitamin C and reduce its antioxidant activity.

That's why Dr. Brenner Vitamin C Serum is:

  • Made with 20% pure L-Ascorbic Acid
  • Formulated with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid
  • Fresh-batched every two weeks
  • Shipped fresh from our facility

Fresh formulation matters because as L-ascorbic acid oxidizes, its antioxidant activity decreases.

How to use

Apply 2–3 drops to clean, dry skin once daily.

For daytime use, follow with moisturizer as needed and broad-spectrum sunscreen.

If you are new to high-strength L-ascorbic acid or have sensitive skin, begin less frequently and increase use as tolerated.

When will I see results?

Visible changes from topical Vitamin C develop gradually with consistent use.

Some users may notice improved radiance within several weeks, while changes in uneven tone, dark spots, fine lines, and other signs of photoaging generally require longer-term consistent use.

Results vary depending on skin type, formulation, sun exposure, and consistency of use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose between the airless pump and glass dropper bottle?

Yes. Dr. Brenner Vitamin C Serum is available in two packaging options: our airless pump or the original glass bottle with dropper. Both contain the exact same 20% L-Ascorbic Acid formula with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid. Simply select your preferred packaging option before adding the serum to your cart.

What form of Vitamin C does this serum use?

Dr. Brenner Vitamin C Serum uses 20% pure L-ascorbic acid, the biologically active and most extensively researched form of topical Vitamin C.

Why can the serum feel slightly tingly?

High-strength, low-pH L-ascorbic acid formulas can sometimes cause temporary tingling, particularly when first introduced. If persistent irritation occurs, reduce frequency of use or discontinue use.

Can I use this every day?

Yes, if your skin tolerates it. The serum can be used once daily. Those with sensitive skin may prefer to begin less frequently and gradually increase use.

Does Vitamin C oxidize?

Yes. L-Ascorbic acid can oxidize over time, particularly with exposure to air, light, and heat. We fresh-batch our Vitamin C Serum every two weeks to help minimize the time between production and delivery.

Can I use Vitamin C with retinol?

Yes. Vitamin C and retinoids can both be part of the same skincare routine. Many people prefer to use Vitamin C in the morning and retinoids in the evening, particularly if using both together causes irritation.

Pump NO GO! Bottle TO GO!

I have used the vitamin c before in the glass bottle and re-ordered. Then it came in a pump. This is NOT good for a watery liquid. The pump splattered vitamin c serum all over my face and or fingertips when trying to figure out the best way to use it. Glad to see my next delivery has returned to the bottle!

AMAZING SERUM!!!

This product is absolutely amazing! I was a former user of Skinceuticals C E Ferulic for a couple of years, but quickly tired of paying the high cost. I began looking for a replacement with the same ingredients. Upon my research I stumbled upon Dr. Brenner Vitamin C Serum with Ferulic Acid, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid and found it works just a good, if not better, than the pricey alternative. Dr. Brenner’s even contains a higher percentage of Vit C than Skinceuticals (20% vs 15%). I’ve been using Dr. Brenner’s for several years now and almost all of my age spots and sun damage have disappeared! My skin literally glows! I’ve had friends and family who haven’t known about me using the product comment about how amazing my skin looks. My sister and daughter have both started using Dr. Brenner’s after seeing my results. The serum is now bottled in an airtight bottle which keeps it from oxidizing; another big plus! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this serum!!

New packaging for Vitamin C is not good...

I've always been using the bottle with the glass dropper. Happy to see it has returned as I do not like the pump bottle at all. By the way, should this be refrigerated to last longer? I've been doing so but noticed crystals forming near the end of use.

New packaging is terrible Won't buy until it's better

Why on earth did they change the packaging to something so completely inefficient? Please go back to dropper or free pour. This new package is simply wasteful, you won't see me buying it again and I loved it!!

The new Vit C dispensing system sucks! I’ve loved every product I’ve tried and I’ve tried them all. Please return to your dropper bottles.
